Australian Biography Online is the online version of the Australian Biography TV series, which has been running on SBS-TV for the past decade.
Current status:
Version one completed in 2004 → view the site
Added another seven interview subjects for version two – in June 2006. More subjects to come in 2007.

Australian Biography Online is being produced for Film Australia in collaboration with Pacific & Beyond, and will be served by the National Library of Australia. The site includes approximately 160 hours of searchable video.
Synopsis:
A nation’s story is reflected in the lives of its people - these are the stories of Australia's distinguished elders, told in their own words. Australian Biography Online is a web-based biographical resource profiling some of the most extraordinary Australians of our time.
The project draws from valuable material collected for Film Australia’s Australian Biography TV series, which features remarkable and inspiring individuals who have had a major impact on our cultural, political and social life.
In revealing in-depth interviews, these people have shared their experiences and insights. Now, full transcripts will be available on the internet along with video extracts and comprehensive study notes in a growing archival record of immediate interest and lasting value.
