Back end online schedule management systems for Radio National and Radio Australia
Current status:
Complete — output pages can be seen on Radio National and Radio Australia web sites.
Both radio networks required back-end database systems to maintain online schedules spanning multiple timezones and multiple output templates. Both networks have complex rebroadcast and syndication systems, which made for a challenging database structure. The databases allow staff to quickly make changes to the schedule and output the a variety of web-ready files, in html, pdf, plain text and xml formats.
